AEW Full Gear Recap
All Elite Wrestling presented their Full Gear show on November 24th, 2024 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
I will say that this show had nonstop action from start to finish with a total of 10.094 fans in attendance.
In the preshow, it started off with Anna Jay defeating New Jersey raised Deonna Purazzo. After that you had Buddy Matthews defeat Dante Martin, Beast Mortos, and Kommander in a four-way match. Lastly, you had two New Jersey natives Social Media sensation AJ from the Costco Guys against Q.T Marshall. AJ with assistance from his son, Big Justice, won the match, and also a special guest appearance by social media sensation, The Rizzler, who had the Prudential Center on its feet.
In the first match of the show you had Private Party defeat The Kings of the Black Throne, The Outrunners, and The Acclaimed in a four-way tag match to retain the AEW tag-team titles. During the match, The Acclaimed had some communication issues which ultimately cost them the match.
MJF defeated Roderick Strong by submission. After the match, MJF injured Roderick, and Adam Cole came out to stop MJF from further damage. Kyle O’Reilly came out as well, and shoved Adam Cole to the ground as was angry about the situation.
Mercedes Mone defeated Kris Statlander by pinfall to retain the TBS championship. Mone did this without assistance from Kamille by her side, as she told her to stay behind in the preshow.
Jay White defeated Hangman Page by pinfall with the switchblade. One of the most heated rivalries in AEW right now, White has defeated Page for a fifth time, leaving their head-to-head record 5-1.
Kyle Fletcher defeated Will Ospreay by pinfall in what I thought was the match of the night. Former best friends, now bitter rivals put up a brutal match in which Fletcher took advantage of Ospreay’s injuries and came out with the victory. After the match, Mark Davis came out to check on his friend.
Daniel Garcia defeated Jack Perry to win the TNT title. In a rivalry that has heated up for months, Perry told Garcia that he was not ready to be a champion, and he came in the show to win it.
Konosuke Takeshita defeated Ricochet to retain the AEW International Championship. This match was also in the category of being another great match as well.
Recent signing Bobby Lashley defeated Swerve Strickland by submission. After the match, Lashley also put Prince Nana in the same lock as well to leave him knocked out.
In the main event, Jon Moxley defeated Orange Cassidy to retain the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. In a match that was full of chaos from start to finish, Moxley took the win with help from Wheeler Yuta.
After the match, Hangman Page came out and attacked Wheeler Yuta, and distracted Moxley for Christian Cage to come in and cash in his title shot. Jay White came out to prevent it from happening. Moxley left to get into his truck until Darby Allin crashed a car into his truck to end the show.
