Travis Hunter was named the winner of the Heisman Trophy on December 14th, 2024. The Heisman Trophy is awarded to the best player in college football. 

Hunter, who plays for University of Colorado, had himself quite a year being named one of the best offensive players in the nation, and also one of the best defensive players in the nation.

Hunter, who had 1,152 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns won the Fred Biletnikoff trophy for best wide receiver, He also had 4 interceptions on defense and won the Chuck Bednarik trophy for best wide receiver. He also received the AP College Football Player of the Year.

Hunter was also coached by Deion Sanders, one of the most well known players of all time.

Hunter won the trophy over Ashton Jeanty, who had the fan vote, Dillon Gabriel, who led Oregon to an Undefeated season and number one spot in the college football playoff, and Cam Ward, who was one of the top quarterbacks in the nation.

This Heisman selection came with some opinions as many felt that Jeanty should have been the winner. Jeanty had a historic season after having a 2,000 yard season.

Travis Hunter now ends his season as a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft coming up.
